This Cookie Policy explains what Magma Company GmbH ("Dawn", "we", "us", "our") stores on your device when you use Dawn at app.dawn.am, or visit dawn.am, help.dawn.am or legal.dawn.am.
It should be read with the Privacy Policy, which explains what happens to the data these technologies produce.
The short version
Signing in needs a cookie, and there is no version of that which does not. Everything else on this page is optional, off until you say otherwise, and switchable at any time.
We set no advertising cookies at all, and nothing on any Dawn site tracks you across other websites.
1. What this covers
"Cookie" here is shorthand for cookies and the technologies that do the same job:
localStorage, sessionStorage, and identifiers held in either. We use no pixels, no web
beacons and no device fingerprinting.
2. Strictly necessary
These are what makes a signed-in session work. They are set because you asked for a page that requires you to be signed in, they carry no consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, and refusing them means not being able to sign in.

The marketing site, the help centre and this site set no cookies of any kind. They are static HTML with nothing behind them.
3. Preferences
Things you set about how Dawn looks, kept in localStorage on your own device. They never
leave it, they are not sent to us, and they carry no identifier.

The calendar reads its height before the first paint, which is why it is on the device rather than on your account: an hour that resized itself under the cursor a moment after the page appeared would be worse than one that was simply the right height. Clearing your browser storage resets these and loses nothing else.
4. Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how Dawn is used — which features are reached, where a flow is abandoned, what fails. It tells us what to fix. It is the only optional category on this site.

- It is off until you consent. Nothing above is written, and no event is sent, until you accept analytics in the banner.
- It never carries the substance of your account. No note body, no event title, no todo, no forwarded message, no assistant instruction, no name of a person you recorded.
- The identifier is random. It is not your email address and it is not derived from anything you told us.
- PostHog processes this in the European Union.
5. Advertising
None. We run no advertising, we buy no retargeting, and there is no Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn insight tag and no third-party advertising cookie on any Dawn property. There is no plan to add one, and if that ever changed it would be a change to this document under section 8, published before it took effect and asked about rather than assumed.
6. Your choices
6.1. The banner
The first time you arrive we ask, and nothing optional is set before you answer. Refusing is one click and is not made harder than accepting.
6.2. Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any Dawn site. Withdrawing consent stops the collection from that moment and removes the identifier; it does not affect what was lawfully collected before.
6.3. Your browser
Every major browser can block or clear cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you being able to sign in; blocking the rest costs you nothing.
6.4. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour Sec-GPC. A request carrying it is treated as a refusal of analytics, whatever
the banner was told.
7. Transfers
Clerk is in the United States; PostHog processes EU traffic in the European Union. Recipients, locations and the transfer mechanisms relied on are on the Sub-processors page.
8. Changes
If what we set changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. A new category of optional cookie would be asked about before it was set, not announced after.
